What is Self-Compacting Concrete?

Self-compacting concrete (SCC), also known as high-performance concrete (HPC), is a highly workable concrete that flows and consolidates under its own weight without the need for mechanical vibration. It is self-levelling and self-compacting, filling every corner and void and leaving an exceptionally smooth surface.

HPC is an ideal solution for homes without underfloor heating and offers a cost-effective alternative to liquid screed, while still delivering an outstanding floor finish that is ready for tiling, hardwood, or other floor coverings. It can also be laid over underfloor heating.

Our Installation Process

Site Survey

We visit your site to assess conditions, take measurements, and recommend the right HPC floor and specification for your project.

Preparation

The subfloor is prepared and any insulation, DPM or edging strips are laid before the pour begins.

The Pour

The self-compacting concrete is pumped in with our Putzmeister RoLine pump, or poured straight from the truck where access allows, filling the entire area evenly.

4

Curing & Handover

The floor is left to cure. We'll advise you on drying times and when it's ready for your chosen floor covering.
